Based at Alcock Road Reserve in Truganina, Truganina Lions Football Club is proud to serve the vibrant local community. Since our formation in late 2022, we’ve created a welcoming and inclusive platform for boys and girls to pursue their passion for football in a supportive, family-focused environment.
Our journey began when Wyndham City Council conducted a community survey in early 2022, gauging interest in activating a sports facility at Alcock Road Reserve. The overwhelming response led to community consultation sessions and the formation of an inaugural committee – made up of passionate locals, many of whom were former players themselves.
Together, the founding group chose the club’s name, colours, and emblem. “Truganina Lions” was selected to reflect strength, unity, and local pride. Our colours – green, blue, and gold – represent the cultural diversity of our community. The lion symbolizes strength and togetherness – a true pride.
Following the establishment of our constitution, Football Victoria affiliation, and formal incorporation at our first AGM on 3 October 2022, we kicked off our debut competitive season as ‘Truganina Lions Soccer Club’ in 2023.
In July 2024, the club was recognised as a 2 Star Club Changer by Football Australia for our strong commitment to safeguarding and fostering a safe, inclusive, and resilient football environment for all participants.
In Dec 2024, our members voted to rename the club to ‘Truganina Lions Football Club’, aligning with Football Victoria and the sport’s national identity, which is a testament to our commitment to the game’s future.
We now boast over 360 players across 29 teams, guided by dedicated in-house coaches who bring a rich mix of expertise and enthusiasm to every session. Our committee remains committed to ensuring every member feels supported and valued.
At our club, we understand that every child has unique goals and aspirations. That’s why we focus on nurturing talent through quality coaching, high standards of training, and a culture of inclusion and excellence.
We’re not just a club – we’re a community. And our goal is simple: to help every young player thrive, both on and off the field.
