30 May 2025 – In what will go down as one of the most memorable nights in Truganina Lions FC history, 11 of our youngest Lions had the experience of a lifetime, stepping onto the iconic Marvel Stadium turf as player mascots for the Argentinian national team during the CommBank Matildas vs Argentina match!
As proud participants in Football Victoria’s Coles MiniRoos Kick-Off Program and recent recipients of the Club Changer Club of the Month award, our players lived every young footballer’s dream – walking hand-in-hand with international stars in front of a roaring crowd of 43,020 fans!

A Night of Magic, Goals & Unforgettable Moments
The atmosphere was electric as the Matildas delivered a thrilling 2-0 victory, with debutant Cahli Johnson opening the scoring with a powerful header, before Kaitlyn Torpey sealed the win with a pinpoint cross that sent the stadium into raptures.
For our young Lions, however, the real magic happened before the first whistle blew—soaking in the energy of a packed stadium, meeting world-class players, and feeling the thrill of being part of a historic football moment.

More Than Just a Game – A Lifelong Memory
“This wasn’t just a match day; it was a core memory for our kids,” said one of the club’s long-serving volunteer parent. “Experiences like this inspire dreams, fuel passion, and show our young players what’s possible when you love the game.”
A huge thank you to Football Victoria for this incredible opportunity and to our amazing Truganina Lions FC community—players, parents, and supporters—for making nights like this possible.
Dream Big, Play Proud – The Future is Bright!
From grassroots to the big stage, our Lions proved once again that Truganina Lions FC is a club where dreams take flight. Who knows? Maybe one day, we’ll see one of our own wearing the green and gold on that very pitch!
Go Lions!
